Oravec, a four-time world champion in ball hockey and a CrossFit athlete, decided to take on a challenge that most wouldn’t even consider…
Swimming underneath a frozen lake.
It Started Off Smooth…
He entered the water through a hole cut into the ice and began swimming calmly beneath the frozen surface.
At first, everything looked completely under control.
He was making steady progress toward another opening in the ice.
Then Things Took A Turn
As he got closer to the exit point, something unexpected happened…
He suddenly appeared disoriented.
Instead of continuing forward, he turned around.
And that’s when things got tense.
Panic On The Surface
People watching from above immediately realized something was wrong.
They began banging on the ice, trying to guide him toward the exit.
But from below, Oravec seemed unsure where to go.
At one point, someone on the ice even slipped as the group rushed to help.
Meanwhile… He Stayed Calm
While everyone above was panicking…
Oravec didn’t seem to be.
Instead of rushing, he kept his composure and searched carefully.
Then he spotted something important.
The One Thing That Saved Him
A rope had been placed under the ice as a safety measure.
And in that moment, it made all the difference.
Oravec grabbed onto it…
…and followed it back to where he started.
A Close Call, But A Safe Ending
He finally reached the original hole, pulled himself out of the water, and sat down on the edge.
What could have gone very wrong…
